To blog or not to blog?

Do I post regularly on this site or just keep it as an information site? Time was each business, organisation, group, charity, band, handyman and wannabe *insert aspiration here* needed to have a website.

With the amount of social media around these days, information websites are fast becoming redundant. You don’t spend too much time updating base sites anymore. Most things spread by social media as quick as you like, so updating static websites becomes:

  • Old very quickly
  • Boring
  • Time consuming

Generally with a band that’s been around for a while, new fans will wander in for a look see, and leave just as quickly. Over to FB or Twitter where it’s truly interactive and instant. If you’ve visited the site in the past you’ll notice that it hasn’t been updated in nearly 3 years. Most of the time I post something on Facebook and that gets the news out (allegedly). Twitter I never saw the point of! So most of the band’s traffic goes through Facebook.

So what’s the point of this post? Well none really. I’m just finalising the new look for the site and wanted to fill out the blog page with something to see how it looks.

See you in a few years for the next blog. 😉
